General myWindowsHosting.com mail server information

Email
myWindowsHosting.com provides all users with access to send and receive email using their domain name. To do this you will have to configure your email program to use the hostnames detailed here.

Mail server hostname
(When configuring your email program, replace "yourdomain.com" in the examples below with your domain name.)
  • POP3 server hostname: mail.yourdomain.com
  • IMAP server hostname: mail.yourdomain.com
  • SMTP server hostname: mail.yourdomain.com
  • Webmail server hostname: mail.yourdomain.com
POP and IMAP login name
The login name for your POP and IMAP accounts is the full emailaddress, not just the user name. For example, if you create the POPaccount "user@yourdomain.com," the login name is"user@yourdomain.com" not "user." You must use the full emailaddress as the login name.

Maximum email message size
All  outgoing messages are limited to 20MB, including the size of the attachment.

Note: Even though the server can send  email up to 20MB insize, the size of an email you can receive is limited to availablespace in your mailbox.

The maximum message size when using the webmail client is 10MB, if you want to upload large attachments, we suggest you to use other email clients.

SMTP authentication
The myWindowsHosting.com  mail servers use SMTP Authentication to authenticate permission to send email through our SMTP (outgoing) server. This means that in order for a user to send an email throughthe SMTP server they must supply a valid POP3 account and password. Most email clients support SMTP Authentication.

SMTP Authentication is in place to prevent non-myWindowsHosting.com users from being able to send email or abuse the SMTP server. Without this authentication spammers could utilize our SMTP servers to send spam.

You should only access the mail servers using the hostnames detailed above. Accessing them via IP addresses is not recommended. The hostnames will not change, the IP addresses they point to however, could change. Using the hostnames prevents the need to update your settings if the IP addresses of the servers change.
